"As a tech management intern at Grassroots Grocery, I loved having the ability to apply my creativity and improve upon my knowledge of programming through the develpoment of intuitive features and automations using JavaScript. I also greatly appreciated the opportunity to hone my teamwork and leadership skills by working alongside the other teams within the organization. In addition, over the course of the internship I was able to develop and demonstrate my problem solving skills by helping to troubleshoot and solve any technical issues that arose. These experiences have all helped to prepare me for future job opportunities and challenges."
Tohidul Islam, A former tech intern
"In the wake of a global pandemic leaving countless working-class New Yorkers struggling to afford necessities, there was nothing I wanted to do more than provide support to these communities so familiar to me in any way that I could. Whether it was spreading word of the organization’s mission to outside sources or managing a successful Saturday morning loadout, every task performed felt like a step toward a better tomorrow—and that brought with it an excitement of what the future might hold. Ultimately, it was the founder Dan’s charismatic demeanor and genuine desire to do good that inspired me to not only take on the work, but to do so with pride. With all of the great connections I’ve made and folks I’ve helped in such a short timespan, interning with Grassroots has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life."
