There's a buzzing youth movement across New York
Students at all levels are teaming up to tackle waste and lend a hand to their neighbors. They're not just talking about it - they're doing something awesome!
These amazing volunteers are rescuing surplus food from their school cafeterias and other places and giving it a new life in free community fridges. It's a win-win – good food gets saved and we do something terrific about food insecurity…neighbors helping neighbors.
It’s called the Student Food Recovery Task Force
Every couple of months, they gather virtually to swap stories and learn from each other. Hosted by Grassroots Grocery and FoodRecovery.org, it's a chance for seasoned youth leaders and newcomers alike to come together, share ideas, and make a difference.
Don't miss out – join us on Thursday February 6th!

PS Here are the the kind of resources you will have access to from the Task Force – including a sample letter you can send to your own school community to get involved.
